In typical years, 40-60% of graduates from the undergraduate division go on to graduate school. The avenues of employment available to graduates reflect the breadth of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and are becoming more diverse every year. That said, jobs found by the majority of students are in fields related to town planning or social infrastructure, such as civil service, railway and highway companies, energy and communications, and construction. In addition, some gain employment in “soft” fields that help support society, such as IT and finance.
